Non Surgical Facial Rejuvenation

Atlanta APC Plastic Surgery offers a wide range of non-surgical treatments to improve the look and feel of your skin. We will work with you in your initial consultation to discuss your expectations and choose the right method for you and your skin. Among our non-invasive techniques, we offer fillers, Thermage radiofrequency treatments, microdermabrasion and facial re-surfacing. We also offer several Obagi products to complement our skin care program.

Fillers/Injectables

As we age, our faces begin to show the effects of gravity, sun exposure and years of facial muscle movement, such as smiling, chewing and squinting. The underlying tissues that keep our skin looking youthful and plumped up begin to break down, often leaving laugh lines, smile lines, crow's feet or facial creases over the areas where this muscle movement occurs. The use of fillers or injectables is a non-invasive and affordable way to improve the look of aging skin. As with any medical procedure, results experienced will vary from patient to patient, and a thorough consultation should be held to address your expectations and options. See below for the different kinds of fillers that Dr. Bootstaylor currently offers:

  • Botox®
If you are looking for a non-invasive way to diminish the appearance of wrinkles, Botox® may be right for you. Botox® is a very popular method to reduce frown lines because of the minimal discomfort and virtually no downtime required. Botox® is FDA approved and you can experience results for up to four months.
    How does it work?
We will administer several tiny injections of BOTOX® Cosmetic directly into the muscles that cause those moderate to severe frown lines between the brows. We determine where to administer the injections by examining your ability to move certain muscles in your brow area.
  • Radiesse
Radiesse is FDA approved to safely correct wrinkles and folds around the nose and mouth, also commonly referred to as smile lines, Nasolabial Folds and Marionette Lines. Radiesse not only fills in your lines and wrinkles, it stimulates the production of collagen and encourages tissue regeneration. These immediate results can last up to one year.
    How does it work?
Radiesse treatment is administered through a safe, simple procedure. This procedure is performed with the use of a local anesthetic, and the dermal filler is injected under the skin in a continuous stream through a very fine needle into the appropriate facial planes needed for augmentation and correction.
  • Sculptra
Sculptra™, another type of dermal filler is used for restoring volume and improving facial contours. Additionally, Sculptra can be used in the back of hands for ageing, the upper chest for deep lines and areas of depressions that may occur after liposuction.
    How does it work?
Sculptra works differently from other injectables in that it uses tiny particles of PLA(Poly-Lactic-Acid) are diluted in a suspension of sterile water, carefully implanted in the skin, and then molded for optimal results. The particles of PLA stimulate the formation of new collagen in the skin, adding volume over time.
  • Fat injections
Fat injections are used to plump up creased, furrowed, or sunken facial skin or add fullness to lips and backs of hands. One of the obvious benefits of fat injections is that it eliminates any chance of allergic reactions.

    How does it work?
Fat is harvested from the patients body and used to fill sunken areas or wrinkles in the skin. The proper areas for injection will be discussed with you during your consultation with Dr. Bootstaylor, to make sure that you will experience the best results for your body.

Thermage

Thermage is a safe and clinically proven procedure to tighten and contour skin. You will be able to experience improvements in tone, contour, and texture occurring naturally through the stimulation of your own collagen. Thermage’s uses Capacitive Radiofrequency (CRF) technology which safely heats your skin’s under layer and the web of collagen in the inner layer, causing an immediate tightening as well as improved tone and texture. These improvements will continue and become even more noticeable for four to six months following treatment due to new collagen growth.

Microdermabrasion

Microdermabrasion is a skin-freshening technique that helps repair facial skin that takes a beating from the sun and the effects of aging. A fine sandblaster-like device is used to spray tiny crystals across the face, combining gentle abrasion with suction to remove the problem areas of the outer layer of your skin. As with other skin rejuvenation techniques, more than one treatment may be needed to reduce or remove fine wrinkles and unwanted pigmentation.

Facial Resurfacing

In laser facial resurfacing, sometimes called "laser peel," a carbon dioxide (CO2) laser is used to remove areas of damaged or wrinkled skin, layer by layer. The procedure is most commonly used to minimize the appearance of fine lines, especially around the mouth and the eyes. However, it is also effective in treating facial scars or areas of uneven pigmentation. Laser resurfacing may be performed on the whole face or in specific regions. Often, the procedure is done in conjunction with another cosmetic operation, such as a facelift or eyelid surgery.
